Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the National Secretary of the party, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, over the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, at the age of 92.
A statement personally signed by Dr Ganduje described the death of Alhaja Basiru as a great loss, while extending his deepest sympathies to Senator Basiru, his immediate family, and the entire Basiru family.
Dr. Ganduje described the late Alhaja Sidikat Basiru as a woman of remarkable virtue, faith, compassion, and dignity, whose life was defined by devotion to Almighty Allah, love for her family, and selfless service to humanity.
He noted that the deceased lived a fulfilled and exemplary life, leaving behind an enduring legacy of strong moral values, discipline, wisdom, and religious commitment.
According to him, the remarkable character, achievements, and public service contributions of her children, including Senator Basiru’s distinguished service to the nation and the APC, reflect the quality of upbringing, guidance, and values she instilled in her family.
“Alhaja Sidikat Basiru’s life was a testament to faith, sacrifice, and dedication to family. Her wisdom, prayers, and motherly love will continue to remain a source of inspiration and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her,” Dr. Ganduje said.
The former APC National Chairman urged Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family to take solace in the fact that Alhaja Basiru lived a long and impactful life, touching many lives through her kindness, compassion, and devotion.
Dr. Ganduje prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, accepts her righteous deeds, grants her eternal abode in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and gives the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
