Re- NGOs Stakeholders Slam Kano Over Disability Commsion

Kano State Joint Clusters of Persons with Disabilities Distance Self!!

I would like to address a recent misleading publication in Kanotimes. com.ng that was published on 30/7/2025 with misleading headline that reported our organization’s stance on the establishment of the Disability Commission in Kano State.

We wish to clarify that as a Joint Clusters of Kano State Persons with Disabilities we did not attend any engagement regarding such junky, misleading headline from the said newspaper that we neither make any statement or participate in any engagement criticizing or “slamming” the Kano State government over delayed in establishing commission.

The said cover page banner picture was from an engagement meeting titled ” Stakeholders Engagement on Strengthening Inclusive Support System for Vulnerable Population and Persons with Disabilities in Kano State” that held on 22/7/2025.* And the Joint Clusters were not invited neither participate in the meeting despite the presence of a single cluster head that was at the meeting as a personal invitee.

After the publication, the Joint Clusters seek clarification from the organizers and some of the attendees and responded with shocked about the claim and distanced themselves from such irrational and baseless information.

Our organization remains committed to working collaboratively with the government to advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

We value our partnership with this administration’s of Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, the executive governor of Kano State and relavant stakeholders in promoting the welfare of persons with disabilities.

Our efforts are focused on constructive engagement and dialogue to achieve meaningful progress.
We have never been denied His Excellency’s or his cabinets approval anytime we submitted PWDs proposal.”

We call on all members and leadership of Joint Clusters of Kano State PWDs and the general public and any organization in the name of fighting for the rights of persons with disabilities in Kano State as that’s not our line of approach and we recognize the positive impact of the Kano State government’s initiatives for persons with disabilities

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify our position and look forward to continued collaboration with all stakeholders.
