The Kano House of Assembly has commenced an impeachment process of theĀ Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu AbduSalam Gwarzo, by serving him a notice to defend allegations against him that constituted impeachment offences.
At the special plenary session on Thursday, the notice read at plenary consisted of allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office and breach of public trust.
The House Majority leader, Lawan Husaini, who addressed journalists after the session, confirmed the development, said he presented the notice of the impeachment.
He said the notice was signed by 38 members of the House.
He said after the service of the notice, the deputy governor is expected to revert to the house within two weeks.
