The Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) extends its warm felicitations to Muslims in Kano and across Nigeria as we mark the joyous occasion of Eid.
Eid is a time of gratitude, reflection, unity, and compassion. It reminds us of the values of sacrifice, patience, and peaceful coexistence—values that are deeply needed in our communities today. As families and friends gather to celebrate, YOSPIS urges all residents of Kano and Nigerians at large to uphold these virtues and ensure that the festivities remain peaceful and responsible.
We call on citizens to:
Avoid all forms of violence, reckless behavior, and substance abuse.
Respect law enforcement agencies and comply with all safety guidelines.
Promote unity, tolerance, and mutual respect across communities.
Celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged, including vulnerable groups such as almajiri children.
YOSPIS particularly commends the sustained peace being experienced in Kano and encourages residents to preserve and strengthen this atmosphere during and after the Eid celebrations. We also recognize the efforts of security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders across Nigeria who continue to work tirelessly to maintain peace and stability.
At a time when the nation seeks greater unity and social harmony, peaceful Eid celebrations serve as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and collective responsibility.
As an organization committed to building a healthy, safe, and morally upright society, YOSPIS believes that maintaining peace during festive periods is a duty we all share.
