The Director General of National Productivity Center on behalf of Women Lawyers Congress has received with shock the passing of Barrister Maryam Abubakar, Director of Programme, Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability (CAJA) also Member of Women Lawyers Congress ( WLC) Her death is a great loss not only to her family but also to the legal profession and the entire civil society community.
The condolence message was contained in a statement Signed by the Director General of National Productivity Center Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi on behalf of Women Lawyers Congress
Dr Babba Dan Agundi said the late Barrister Maryam was a committed legal practitioner and a passionate advocate of justice, accountability, women’s rights and she given more contributions in Women Lawyers Congress.
He Explained that her dedication to the promotion of the rule of law, social justice, and good governance distinguished her as a woman of integrity and service, whose contributions will be greatly missed.
“On behalf of the women Lawyers Congress and all Support groups wishes to extend a heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of the Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability (CAJA), the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), the Nigeria Bar Association, Kano and Ungogo Branch, and the family of the deceased. This is indeed a painful loss that has created a vacuum which will be difficult to fill.
